Once we receive the ultrasound report, we'll review the findings and get back to you with our recommendations.

If your results suggest that you need additional evaluation or a specialist, we'll discuss your options and can provide an appropriate referral.
What Can Ultrasound Show?
Ultrasound uses sound waves – not X-rays – to create real-time images of structures inside the body. It's especially good at visualizing soft tissues, and with Doppler ultrasound, it can also show blood flow.
Depending on the area being examined, ultrasound can help your doctor evaluate:

Does ultrasound use radiation?
No. Diagnostic ultrasound uses sound waves rather than ionizing radiation. This is one reason ultrasound is commonly used during pregnancy.
What type of ultrasound can you order?
Different ultrasound examinations answer different clinical questions. For example, an abdominal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, scrotal ultrasound, breast ultrasound, and venous Doppler study are not interchangeable.

Do I need to know which type of ultrasound I need?
